The Photography Show 2021
Familiar Faces
Oh man, it was so good to be physically back at The Photography Show last weekend!
I have been going to the show since 2016 as both a punter and a speaker and like many people, I was really disappointed when the 2020 show was canceled due to the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. But with the uncertainty at that time fully understood the show’s decision and was delighted to be asked to help produce some content for their social media channels during the lockdown.
So when the 2021 show was announced for September I was thrilled to be offered the opportunity to present a talk about my journey with street photography and how it inspires me with my approach to wedding photography, which I of course jumped at.
I gave my talk ‘From Street to Bridal Suite’ on the Shutter Street stage on Tuesday afternoon and felt incredibly humbled by the amazing feedback from the attendees afterward. It is a real buzz presenting at shows and I am always grateful to be given these opportunities to share my work and talk about my approach to wedding photography. And I love getting to speak to all the awesome people who come to the talks.
The show is also a great opportunity for me to catch up with some awesome friends in the industry, some of which I hadn’t seen for two and a half years since the last show. It’s very much the social highlight oof my year and after everything that had happened over the last 18 months this year felt even more special to see so many familiar friendly faces again (I even bumped into an old school friend who I hadn’t seen for over 20 years).
It was also really cool to be interviewed for the Camera Shake Podcast’s special show episode. You can listen to that episode here - https://camerashakepodcast.com/episodes/ep-75
So that’s another show for another year. Roll on TPS 2022!
