Wedding Photojournalist Association
Amazing News!
I submitted my application and portfolio to the international Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) for consideration of my WPJA membership and I am thrilled to have had my application approved today.
WPJA is a professional organization composed of photojournalists and wedding photographers from around the world. What sets their members apart in the industry is their candid, documentary approach.
“The Wedding Photojournalist Association® (WPJA) exists to accredit and promote the expertise of wedding photographers who deploy reportage-style, documentary-style, or wedding photojournalism authenticity to tell the story of two people making the most important commitment of their lives.”
The WPJA has a vigorous application and vetting process and membership in the association is not guaranteed. According to WPJA, only less than 5% of photographers applying the membership are qualified, as the WPJA upholds strict guidelines for membership. All members are expected to adhere to the standards and guidelines set out by the WPJA in order to maintain the integrity of the association and its members.
So yeah, I’m feeling a little bit chuffed today!
